Lord Sheikh Attends Ansar Finance Silver Jubilee Anniversary Dinner

In his capacity as Co-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on
Islamic Finance Lord Sheikh had the pleasure of attending the Silver Jubilee Anniversary of Ansar Finance as Guest of Honour and Father of the Day.

The dinner, held at the European Islamic Centre Manchester on 16th March 2019, was an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the good work the charity has been doing since 1994. Ansar Finance provides interest free personal loans to those struggling with debt. They aim to provide life-changing support and alleviate poverty, financial hardship and debt through charitable loans and financial relief.

Notable achievements include:

• Granting over £3,500,000 in charitable loans since inception
• Providing a home financing pilot scheme from 2000-2008, through shared ownership with an investment of £2,300,000
• Helping people in avoiding over £1,000,000 in usury payments.

The evening provided a fitting platform to shine a light on and congratulate everyone who has been involved in Ansar Finance’s distinguished journey.
